Characterization by isozymes of the citrus rootstocks used in Uruguay

Following extraction of mature leaves held at 4 degrees C for 2 weeks, 8 isoenzyme systems were characterized in 13 Poncirus trifoliata cultivars, 8 citrange cultivars, 3 citrumelo cultivars and 3 citangor (citrangor? (citranges x oranges)) cultivars grown commonly in Uruguay. Apart from the SKDH (shikimate dehydrogenase) system all P. trifoliata cultivars showed similar zymograms, but all the other rootstocks could be identified by isoenzymes.
