Characterization of Babesia bigemina antigen (Egyptian strain) isolated from an experimentally infected calf

Characterization of Babesia bigemina antigen (Egyptian strain) isolated from an experimentally infected calf

Veterinary Medical Journal Giza 42(1(B)): 211-214

Characterisation of B. bigemina antigen using SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting techniques was performed to study the protein components. The 10-15% polyacrylamide gradient gel which was used was stained with silver nitrate demonstrating 3 major polypeptide components of MW 85, 61 and 53 kDa. Other bands were discernible with MW of 47, 37, 33 and 26 kDa.
