Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) breeding should aim to combine good agricultural value and satisfactory seed production. The collection of ecotypes in natural grasslands remains an efficient and much-used method for the improvement of the species, but collection sites must be chosen according to the desired traits of the plant material.
