17 reference strains and 37 recently isolated Israeli strains of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) were examined using 3 panels of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against haemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN), fusion (F) and matrix (M) viral proteins, containing 10, 7 and 6 MAbs, respectively. The MAb-producing hybridomas were prepared against Australia-Victoria (AV) strain of NDV by fusing spleen cells from NDV-immunized Balb/c mice with the mouse myeloma cell line SP2/0.
