Characterization of a novel gene product (mammalian tolloid-like) with high sequence similarity to mammalian tolloid/bone morphogenetic protein-1

Characterization of a novel gene product (mammalian tolloid-like) with high sequence similarity to mammalian tolloid/bone morphogenetic protein-1

Genomics 34(2): 157-165

A cDNA library prepared from embryonic fibroblasts of mutant mice homozygous for a null allele of the BMP-1/mTld (bone morphogenetic protein-1/mammalian tolloid) gene was used to isolate cDNA clones for a new protein, designated mammalian tolloid-like (mTII), with a domain structure identical to that of mTld. The estimated molecular weight of the 1014-amino acid mTII translation product was 114 532 Da.
