Characterization of growth of beef cattle breeds with growth functions

Characterization of growth of beef cattle breeds with growth functions

Archiv fuer Tierzucht 39(2): 121-127

For describing the growth of several beef cattle breeds in the first instance a qualified set of growth functions is determined. The results of parameter and residual variance estimations for these growth functions and the existing data sets allow together with some previous knowledge the choice of a growth function which is also optimal with respect to a developed optimum criterion.
