Combined power and heat in decentralized power systems: the untapped megawatts

Combined power and heat in decentralized power systems: the untapped megawatts

Renewable energy development in India: Analysis of US policy experience: 128-131

With efficient power generation and waste heat utilization at decentralized power stations, the overall energy efficiency can approach 90%, compared with 34% for conventional stations based on the Rankin cycle. In 1990 the potential total energy cogenerable by all industries in India was estimated at 10.7 GW.
