Comparison of field isolates with a vaccine strain of haemorrhagic enteritis virus of turkeys by restriction endonuclease analysis and pathogenicity study

Comparison of field isolates with a vaccine strain of haemorrhagic enteritis virus of turkeys by restriction endonuclease analysis and pathogenicity study

Pakistan Veterinary Journal 16(1): 15-20

Turkey flocks suffered haemorrhagic enteritis (HE) outbreaks after live cell culture HE vaccination. The viruses from these outbreaks were isolated and characterized. Comparison of restriction endonuclease (RE) pattern with a known virulent strain of haemorrhagic enteritis virus (HEV) revealed that these field isolates had the same RE pattern as that of the known virulent HEV. All 3 field isolates had the same restriction pattern.
