Expression of the modified hybrid bacterial gene glc for beta -1,3-glucanase from Clostridium thermocellum was achieved in N. tabacum. The expression was controlled for plasmids pC27-glc and pC29-glc by promoters TR2' and rbcS, respectively. The constructs obtained were used to transform cells of Agrobacterium, followed by transfer into the plants.
