Control of the grape moth Lobesia botrana on table grapes and grapes for wine production

The biology of the tortricid Lobesia botrana on table grapes and grapes for wine production in Italy is described. The pest has 3 generations a year, overwintering in the pupal stage. Biological data are used to determine the optimum time to control L. botrana using traditional insecticides, chitin synthesis inhibitors (eg. teflubenzuron), insect growth regulators (eg. fenoxycarb) or biological insecticides (eg. Bacillus thuringiensis).
