Development of wheat germplasm research in Sichuan province

Some of the 6400 accessions collected in this province of China in the last decade are stored in the Chinese National Germplasm Conservation Centre. More than 5000 were involved in genetic analysis, breeding or international exchange. Over 100 cultivars were bred using this germplasm. Promising accessions are mentioned. Seven accessions resistant to sprouting in the ear were selected among 70 white-grained landraces. They had a protein content of 10.89-13.57%.
