Drought resistance and its physiological characteristics in rice varieties



Scientia Agricultura Sinica 28(5): 65-72



Ten midseason-maturing lowland and upland rice varieties were compared for drought resistance and physiological responses to water stress. The drought resistant coefficient of the varieties was in the following order: Han A03 > Han 501 > Zhenzhuai > Yangdao 4 > Shanyou 63 > Liuyou 1 > Yayou 2 > Nanjing 11 > Yanjing 2 > Yangjing 235. The highest drought resistance index and grain yield under water stress were obtained in 3 hybrid combinations of Shanyou 63, Yayou 2 and Liuyou 1.
