Dynamics of woody plants of DBH equal to or more than 5.0 cm: a comparison between functional and ecophysiological groups at INPA's Tropical Silviculture Experimental Station, Manaus-AM, Brazil

Dynamics of woody plants of DBH equal to or more than 5.0 cm: a comparison between functional and ecophysiological groups at INPA's Tropical Silviculture Experimental Station, Manaus-AM, Brazil

Revista Arvore 20(3): 267-278

The dynamics of trees of DBH (diameter at breast height) >=5.0 cm were analysed in an equatorial forest near Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, under four thinning intensities implemented by girdling. The behaviour of functional (listed and non-listed (? commercial and non-commercial)) and ecophysiological (understorey, shade tolerant, intermediately shade tolerant and light demanding) groups of trees following thinning was compared in terms of annual basal area increment in DBH classes.
