Ecology of Bambusa arundinacea (Retz.) Willd. growing in teak plantations of Kerala, India
A study was undertaken to assess the contribution of bamboo (Bambusa arundinacea) to the vegetation structure, biomass productivity and nutrient cycling in two teak plantations (aged 15- and 20-years-old) in the Kariem-muriem Forest Range, Kerala, India. Bamboo clump distribution and size were analysed at different distances from a water course, to cover both swampy areas and slopes.
