Economic effects of refocusing national food-assistance efforts
The major proposals for refocusing national US food assistance efforts would reduce funding and eligibility for some Federal programmes and transfer control of others to the States under a block grant with a fixed spending limit. The impacts of the changes will extend beyond programme recipients to the rest of the food sector and the larger economy.
