Economic situation and optimal farm size by farm machinery use of main apple producing areas in Kyungbuk province
This study was conducted to investigate ways of reducing labour input in apple production. A survey was conducted of 36 farms in the three main apple producing areas in Kyungbuk province, Korea Republic. Total labour input was 190.3 hours/0.1 ha, of which 162.3 hours was family labour and 27.9 hours was hired labour. Some 12.8% of total labour input was spent on pest and disease control.
