In laboratory studies on parasitism by Epiricania melanoleuca, there was in increase in the fecundity and hatchability of eggs of Pyrilla perpusilla eggs with increased age of the female in all the categories of parasitism. However, when both sexes were unparasitized, fecundity was maximum (208.1 and 205.7 eggs/female in the 10 and 20 days age group, resp.) in comparison to only 21.5 and 29.0 eggs/female when adults of both sexes were parasitized.
