Bulbs of onion Brown Spanish of different weights (156.42, 98.18, 50.83 and 25.92 g) were planted on 18 Dec. 1989 at spacing of 30 x 30, 30 x 45 or 45 x 45 cm. Plants were harvested on 28 July 1990. The number of days to 100% sprouting, number of branches/plant, average branch length, number of seed stalks/plant, total seed yield/1.62-msuperscript 2 plot and average seed yield/plant increased linearly with bulb size.
