Effect of crops cultivated in monoculture and in crop rotation on enzymatic activity of soil
Enzymatic activity of pseudopodzolic soil in layers 0-10 and 30-40 cm deep was investigated as affected by growing sugarbeet and field peas (Pisum sativum) in monoculture or in crop rotation. Crop yields were correlated with enzymatic activity of soil. The highest enzymatic activity was observed in topsoil on the plots with a crop rotation. The layer 30-40 cm deep showed lower enzyme activity either under monoculture and crop rotation.
