In a field trial at Titabar, Assam, in the 1990 rainy season, mean rice grain yield was 4.50, 4.17, 3.63 and 2.23 t/ha when transplanted on 20 July, 5 August, 20 August and 20 September, respectively. Among 7 cultivars, yield ranged from 2.73 t in IET 7946 to 4.51 t in IET 9288; IET 8002 and IET 8021 also yielded >4 t/ha.
