Effect of different sources and levels of sulphur on yield, concentration and uptake of N, P, K, and S by cowpea

In a screenhouse experiment, Vigna unguiculata CS-94 was given 0-120 mg S/kg as pyrite or elemental S (3 weeks before sowing) or gypsum or K2SO4 (at sowing). Leaf and stem dry matter yield and N and P contents increased with up to 40 mg S irrespective of S source, whereas K content increased with up to 80 mg S. Content of S in leaves and stems increased with up to 120 kg S.
