Effect of feeding Livol on the performance of broilers

Livol, a herbal growth promoter, was fed to straight-run commercial broiler chickens at 0, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75% in the diet from 1 day to 8 weeks of age. Weight gains were 1296, 1290, 1471 and 1268 g and feed consumption was 2962, 2855, 3199 and 2881 g, respectively. The values for 0.50% supplementation were higher than those of all other levels (P<0.05). Feed efficiency, protein and energy efficiencies were also improved (P<0.05).
