Effect of moderate pruning, potassium nitrate and calcium nitrate on flowering in mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Haden

, : Effect of moderate pruning, potassium nitrate and calcium nitrate on flowering in mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Haden. Revista de la Facultad de Agronomia, Universidad Central de Venezuela 22(1/2): 47-56

Floral and vegetative activity and shoot flux density of 3-year-old mango Haden trees on Criollo de Bocado rootstock were studied in response to light summer pruning (on 19 June 1993) combined with foliar sprays of 6% potassium nitrate or calcium nitrate (on 5 November 1993). This study was carried out in Aragua, Venezuela. After pruning there was a significant decrease in total shoots per canopy surface, but 62 days after pruning that difference was no longer evident.
