Effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and yield of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) varieties
In an experiment during the rabi season of 1981 at Jabalpur, India, tomato cultivars Acc-99 and Sweet-72 growing on a clay loam were given 0, 40, 80 or 120 kg N and 0, 40 or 80 kg P/ha. Fruit yield increased as N rate increased up to 80 kg/ha and as P rate increased up to 80 kg/ha. There was no significant difference between cultivars for fruit yield but there was an interaction between N and P rates.
