Semi-hardwood cuttings were taken in May, July and Aug. after etiolation from pomegranate Bedana trees approx. 8 years old and treated basally for 30 s with IBA alone (2500, 5000 or 10 000 ppm) or p-hydroxybenzoic acid (1000 ppm), ferulic acid (1000 ppm) or Ethrel (1000 ppm) either alone or together with IBA (2500, 5000 or 10 000 ppm). Most treatments increased rooting compared with the controls.
