Abstract
This study was conducted to understand the variation of plant growth, yield and quality with different planting dates in Ligusticum chuanxiong. Vegetative node were planted on October 15, 30 and November 15, 30 in 1993, and March 10, 25 and April 10 in 1994. Days from planting to emergence took longer period in early season planting. The emergence ratio in autumn planting was higher by 9.2% than in spring and it was decreased according to later planting. Plant growth was better in the earlier planting in autumn than in spring. Yield and quality of the product was increased in the earlier planting of the season.
