Fourteen-year-old trees were pruned in winter by light (traditional), medium or severe methods. In the year of pruning, yield decreased with pruning severity, but in the following year it started to increase. Nutrient extraction increased with the quantity of prunings. Severe pruning of trees at full-bearing stimulated vegetative growth and delayed tree senescence.
