Effect of row spacing, mulching and weed control on weed growth and yield of soybean (Glycine max)

Indian Journal of Agronomy 41(3): 427-432

In a field trial in the 1992-93 rainy seasons at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, soyabeans PK 472 were grown at row spacings of 25, 35 or 45 cm and mulched with 0 or 5 t dry grass/ha. Weed control treatments included weeding at 20 and 40 days after sowing, application of 1.5 kg fluchloralin/ha presowing, and fluchloralin + interrow cultivation 40 days after sowing. Weed number and dry weight were reduced by narrow row spacing, mulching and all weed control treatments.
