Effect of seeding rates and growth regulator application on lodging resistance and yield with direct seeding on flooded paddy surface

In field experiments, rice was sown directly into flooded soil at 80, 120, 160 or 200 seeds/msuperscript 2 and sprayed with the anti-lodging growth regulator KIM-112. Grain yields were 425.7, 501.1, 471.2 and 400.1 kg/10a without KIM-112, and 437.5, 517.3, 493.4 and 425.6 kg with KIM-112 at sowing rates of 80, 120, 160 and 200 seeds/msuperscript 2, respectively.
