A. terreus reduced the incidence of sheath blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani on rice IR 50 plants grown in pots in the autumn and winter seasons in Assam, India. Disease suppression was highest when A. terreus was grown on wheat-bran peat medium than on maize-meal sand medium and was also higher when soil pH was 7.20 or 7.28 than when pH was 5.2 or 5.5.
