Effect of yeast extract on glucoamylase synthesis by Aspergillus niger in solid state fermentation

Indian Journal of Microbiology 35(4): 335-338

The synthesis of glucoamylase by Aspergillus niger NCIM 1245 (or 1248?) in solid-state fermentation of substrate based on wheat bran + corn flour (9:1, dry basis) was affected by the concentration of yeast extract: 0.5% yeast extract increased the enzyme secretion by ~20%, whereas 1-4% was unfavourable.
