Effects of N and S application on yield, uptake and utilization of soil and fertilizer S in raya (Brassica juncea Coss)

In a greenhouse pot experiment, B. juncea Raya Prakash was given 0-120 ppm N as NH4Cl or Ca(NO3)2 and 0-60 ppm S as K2SO4 tagged with 35S. Seed yield increased with up to 80 ppm N and 60 ppm S. NH4Cl gave higher seed yields than Ca(NO3)2. Application of S up to 60 ppm increased uptake of total and fertilizer S in grains and straw.
