Endoscopic embryo transfer techniques in sheep. Part 1: embryo flushing of uterine and tubal stage embryos

ISSN/ISBN: 0043-535X

An endoscopic technique is described that permits flushing of the oviduct and/or uterus of superovulated ewes. Ova/embryos were flushed from the oviducts of 29 ewes 1-3 days after oestrus. The recovery rate was 36%. In 34 ewes, ova/embryos were recovered from the uterus 4-6 days after oestrus. The recovery rate was 26%.
