Establishment of sewage sludge surface application to reclaimed coal mine spoil

Establishment of sewage sludge surface application to reclaimed coal mine spoil

In field trials in 1982-85 on reclaimed coal mine spoil with winter wheat, sweet sorghum (for fodder) and Sinapis alba (for fodder), the effects of surface application of 160 or 240 kg sewage sludge/ha in split dose were evaluated. Yields did not differ between sludge application rates but were significantly higher than with no sludge.
