Data on 58 Hereford steers slaughtered at 36 months of age were analysed. Regression equations relating body weight at slaughter with warm carcass weight and the weights of the gun cut, rib and forequarter had Rsuperscript 2 values of 0.90, 0.88, 0.73 and 0.86 respectively (all P<0.0001).
