Estimation of the associative effects of individual components in growth trials in lambs

Estimation of the associative effects of individual components in growth trials in lambs

Rivista di Scienza dell' Alimentazione 25(2): 157-167

During 5 rearing cycles, 125 male Sardinian lambs were fed to appetite from 50 to 100 days old on 45 complete pelleted feeds with 10% concentrates and 60% lucerne hay (LH), wheat straw (WS) or a byproduct, different for each year (brewers' grains (BG), maize gluten feed (MGF), barley roots (BR), tomato skins (TS) or sorghum straw (SS)) alone or in different ratios. Intakes, gain and feed efficiency were recorded. Nutrient retentions were estimated by the comparative slaughter method.
