Evaluation of the equations estimating TDN requirements for beef cattle steers given in Japanese feeding standards

Data from 2 cooperative inter-regional experiments involving 5 livestock research stations and Kyoto University were used to re-evaluate equations for estimating total digestible nutrients (TDN) given in Feeding Standards published in 1975 (T75) and 1987 (T87). The data set for analyses was created using records of 152 Japanese Black steers of various slaughter ages and feeding regimes.
