Factors affecting service period, calving interval and milk yield of Holstein Friesian dairy cows in upper Egypt

The data of 381 lactations of 232 Holstein Friesian dairy cows maintained at Bany-Mor Dairy Farm, of Assiut Governorate from 1990 to 1994 were used to study the effect of various factors on service period, calving interval and total milk yield. Relationships between each of these parameters of breeding efficiency and milk production were also estimated. The mean of service period, calving interval and total milk yield were 70 days, 435 days and 3908 kg, respectively.
