Factors affecting the expression of durable resistance of rice cultivars to blast caused by Pyricularia grisea Sacc. 3. Interaction of races of rice blast fungus and cultivars

The interaction between races of rice blast (P. oryzae and rice cultivars was evaluated. Dongjinbyeo was infected by 4 KJ races and 2 KI races, while other varieties were susceptible to 4-6 KJ or KI races. Among the single spores reisolated from the leaf blast lesion of Dongjinbyeo after mixed inoculation of 10 races, 63% were race KJ-301 which produced small numbers of small-sized lesions, while 30% were race KI-313 which produced a large number of lesions.
