Fertiliser requirements for ectomycorrhizal eucalypts in forest nurseries and field plantings in southern China

Mycorrhizas for plantation forestry in Asia: Proceedings of an international symposium and workshop, Kaiping, Guangdong Province, PR China, 7-11 November 1994: 96-100

The objective of inoculating trees in the nursery is to produce plants with abundant mycorrhizas at the time of transplanting to the field. Maximum mycorrhizal development is dependent on having a supply of nutrients that is conducive for both root and mycelial growth. Incorrect supply of mineral nutrients to seedlings is one of the key factors that can depress the development of ectomycorrhizas on eucalypts (Eucalyptus) in forest nurseries.
