An assessment of the dietary aspects of manual and draught farming systems in Soumbe in the Central African Republic, was carried out. Labour profiles showed that manual cropping carried out on 4 ha required 9 labour units resulting in 10.8 consumer units while draught cropping on 4 ha required 7.6 labour units resulting in 9 consumption units. Consumption units are based on consumption by farm labourers' families.
