Field trials were conducted at Bruson, Switzerland, in summer 1992 and spring 1993 to investigate the effects of 6 sowing dates (from 15 July to 28 August 1992 and 16 to 30 April 1993) and planting dates (18 September 1992 and 18 May 1993 with or without mulch) on foliage and essential oil yields of M. officinalis Landor.
