Technical Report Policy Branch, Agriculture and Agri Food Canada ( 2/96): iv + 55 pp.



This publication summarizes theoretical work on the general effects of advertising and the results of empirical applications to generic advertising for Canadian agricultural commodities. It characterizes the results of generic advertising for pork, beef, eggs, poultry, milk and butter and cheese. The range of advertising elasticities found for each commodity is described.
