Data on 3259 Suffolk lambs, born in 2 flocks in Chile in 1982-89, were analysed. Birth weight was significantly affected by type of birth (twin vs. single), year of birth, sex of lamb and age of dam (in that order), weaning weight was affected by twinning, year and flock, body weight at 6 months of age by sex, year and twinning and body weight at 12 months by year, sex and twinning.
