Genetic analysis of a closed flock of Suffolk sheep, selected for reproductive traits and body weight. 2. Environmental effects on ewe body weight and reproductive traits

Avances en Produccion Animal 20(1-2): 83-90

For an unspecified number of Suffolk ewes in 2 flocks, lambing in 1982-89, body weight at the beginning and end of the mating season averaged 56.6 and 57.0 kg respectively, and the average lambing rate, litter size and weight of lamb weaned per ewe mated was 86+or-32%, 1.21+or-0.41 lambs and 30.1+or-14.8 kg.
