Genetic differences of agronomic characteristics in wheat with different dwarf genes

Three groups of spring wheat varieties with different major dwarf genes (Rht1, Rht2 and Rht1 + Rht2) were grown at 2 sites for 2 years. The group with semidwarf gene Rht1 was superior to the other two groups for above-ground biomass yield, grains/msuperscript 2, grains/spike and grain volume weight, and higher than the group with Rht2 for grain yield and spikes/msuperscript 2.
