Growth and flowering response of Rosa hybrida cv. Raktagandha to certain growth regulator sprays

Daminozide and Ethrel at 500 and 1000 ppm of each, and chlormequat at 1000 ppm were applied twice by spraying, 3 weeks after pruning and again 2 months later to the field-grown rose cultivar Raktagandha. Growth regulators markedly affected vegetative growth and flowering of the rose bushes. Number of secondary shoots was increased by 13.33-27.33% over controls, daminozide at 1000 ppm having the greatest effect followed by chlormequat at 2000 ppm.
