Identification of a second murine interleukin-11 receptor alpha -chain gene (IL11Ra2) with a restricted pattern of expression

, : Identification of a second murine interleukin-11 receptor alpha -chain gene (IL11Ra2) with a restricted pattern of expression. Genomics San Diego 40(3): 387-394

The identification and cloning of a mouse interleukin-11 receptor alpha -chain (IL11Ra) has been reported recently. In this study, the presence of a 2nd IL11Ra-like locus in some mouse strains was confirmed and the nucleotide sequence of a cDNA was determined. The 2nd locus was designated IL11Ra2 and was found to encode an mRNA species. In the coding and 3'-untranslated regions, the transcript was 99% identical to the sequence of IL11Ra. However, the 5'-untranslated region was different.
