Genes for resistance to Erysiphe graminis were identified in 48 breeding lines from crosses of the bread wheats Saratovskaya 29, Novosibirskaya 67, Mironovskaya 808, Kutulukskaya and Zolotistaya with T. timopheevii, T. militinae x T. timopheevii and T. dicoccum x A. speltoides using tester isolates of the pathogen. The lines bred with T. timopheevii were found to carry Pm6 alone or in combination with Pm2 or Pm2 + Pm4.
