Identification of heterogeneity and analysis of the activity of Chinese soyabean lipoxygenase
Nine hundred soyabean cultivars from 26 provinces of China were analysed by IEF-PAGE. Results showed the presence of lipoxygenase (lox) mutants, most of which were lacking Lox-3, although there were rare examples of cultivars lacking Lox-1, Lox-2 or both Lox-2 and Lox-3. Differences in activity between bands were compared by scanning Lox bands with a densitometer.
